OUR HISTORY

Over 145 years of architecture, resilience, daring and enhancement, in just a few dates

  • 1879

    Creation of Société Foncière Lyonnaise by Henri Germain, founder of Crédit Lyonnais.

  • 1892

    SFL's property portfolio spans Paris, the Côte d'Azur, Belgium and Italy. It owns more than 300 buildings and almost 2,000 hectares.

  • 1920 – 1939

    Between the wars, SFL concentrated its business exclusively in the capital, selling all its assets outside Paris.

  • 1979

    100 years after its creation, SFL has a high-quality portfolio in prime locations. It comprises commercial and residential premises covering almost 185,000 m². 

  • 2003

    SFL is focusing its development strategy on office and retail properties. It has opted for the new SIIC (Sociétés d'Investissements Immobiliers Cotées) tax regime, for the benefit of its shareholders.

  • 2004

    Immobiliaria Colonial becomes SFL's main shareholder. This marks the beginning of a solid strategic partnership.

  • 2010

    SFL is launching its 1st low-carbon operating plan, convinced that the commercial property industry must revolutionise the way it designs and refurbishes buildings. CSR is now at the heart of its development strategy.

  • 2011

    SFL specialises in prime commercial property in Paris. A strategic choice that is rapidly proving its worth.

  • 2025

    SFL's portfolio currently comprises 17 exceptional assets, valued at more than €7.7 billion. It has a total surface area of 394,400 m² in the heart of Paris. 
    1 October 2025 => Merger between Colonial and SFL, creating one of Europe's leading prime commercial property companies with consolidated assets estimated at €11.9 billion.
