Patricia Savin, President of the ORÉE Association Associate Lawyer, DS avocats: Executives "on a mission" in the face of global challenges

Companies, local authorities, associations... Orée brings together 180 economic players to exchange ideas and put in place an environmental dynamic to serve the regions.

The sincerity of a company's CSR commitment is not always perceived as such.

The survey you have presented shows that almost one in two young people under the age of 35 believe that companies' CSR initiatives are sincere, and I am pleasantly surprised by this figure. I'd thought that young people were very suspicious of companies. Conversely, the survey shows that the majority of the over-35s believe that CSR initiatives are not necessarily sincere. Yet many business leaders are planning to take action for the future of their children and grandchildren...

Do you sense that large companies are no longer doing this simply out of obligation?

At the launch meeting of the Companies for Climate Convention (CEC), nearly 150 company directors of all sizes came together to gain a better understanding of the challenges to be met and to commit to CSR initiatives. Many of ORÉE's members are small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) who are committed to CSR with real conviction, but with little time or resources to spare. Large groups, on the other hand, are committed to CSR with more human and financial resources. Not wanting to be seen as insincere, they sometimes prefer to act without communicating.
