These are criteria that are increasingly valued by consumers.

Your company only finances "committed" brands. How has this commitment evolved in recent years?

When Eutopia began in 2015, we mainly invested in companies whose commitment translated into greater transparency. Brands that were more accessible, more authentic, that put the consumer back at the centre of the game. Ecological issues were not as compelling as they have become today. In recent years, they have become much more present, even omnipresent. We're part of a circular economy, we're trying to relearn how to operate in a virtuous way. It's a bit like nature, which produces no useless waste, for example.

What does Eutopia's commitment mean on a day-to-day basis, and how does it affect your company?

Many things seem natural to us in a working day: green mobility with cycling, using a reconditioned smartphone, sorting waste... This commitment, at the heart of our values, is even a vector of attractiveness: it represents who we are, what we do and how we do it.. Recently, Eutopia has become a certified "B Corp" company. The process of obtaining certification was very unifying for the whole team. It was an opportunity to really define our mission, to set it out in our articles of association and to launch the corresponding actions, such as in our case the carbon footprint of our portfolio companies, the structuring of the donation of part of our future earnings, and so on. We have also identified and precisely defined our three cardinal values: ambition, transparency and benevolence. It's extremely unifying to give meaning to one's working day.

What does this commitment to society mean in the office?

We're asking ourselves this very question because we're going to be moving soon. It's all very statutory when it comes to offices, if only because of the neighbourhoods in Paris, for example: law firms in the 8th arrondissement, start-ups in the Sentier... With the importance of their commitment to the environment, social causes, etc.., Companies will want their offices to reflect their vision of the world and the issues it faces. The 2050 investment fund, for example, has chosen to adopt a minimalist, frugal approach to its premises. From our side, our positioning corresponds to what we call the "sustainable lifestyle". So we're probably going to be looking for premises that make room for design, creativity and 'beauty', but also for efficiency and sustainability, premises that allow us to pool our efforts and uses, while at the same time offering something in the way of an aesthetic experience. An ambition yet to be translated into reality! Just as Eutopia is the real-life counterpart to Utopia...

Antoine Fine, Co-founder of Eutopia

[9
post-1607","article-etude","type-article-etude","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","categorie-article-etude-interview
["GET
